Seniors Real Estate Specialist
What Is the SRES Designation?
The Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation is awarded by the National Association of REALTORS® to agents who have completed specialized training in the unique financial, lifestyle, and emotional needs of clients aged 50 and older. The SRES designation is for REALTORS who want to be able to meet the special needs of maturing Americans when selling, buying, relocating, or refinancing residential or investment properties.
Real estate decisions at this stage of life look very different from earlier ones. The right agent understands that difference.
What Does SRES Mean for You?
Americans over the age of 50 make up the country's second-largest group of homebuyers and sellers, with needs that are vastly different from those at other stages of life. Whether they are downsizing, retiring and looking for a vacation home, considering an active senior community, or searching for a home to age in place, the SRES designation prepares agents to serve them.
Downsizing After Decades in the Same Home
Selling a family home after 20 or 30 years is not just a financial transaction. It is an emotional one. SRES-certified agents understand and have empathy that to their clients, a house is not just a house. It is the home where they spent years making happy memories with loved ones. They know how to counsel clients through the emotionally difficult process of selling the family home. June brings that same depth of empathy to every conversation.
Navigating Financial Complexity
SRES training covers how to use pensions, 401k accounts, and IRAs in real estate transactions, analyze how Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security affect real estate decisions, and protect clients from mortgage loan schemes that target seniors. These are conversations many agents are not equipped to have. June is.
Finding the Right Next Chapter
SRES agents can help clients evaluate the best housing solution for their current and future needs, whether it is an age-restricted community, a multi-generational home, or relocating to be near family. June will help you think through every option with clarity and no pressure.
